What if things don’t work out? What is my obligation to the nanny?

It is always important first to talk to your Nanny or Caregiver and address any concerns you may have. From our experience most of the Employer-Employee issues could be resolved by simple conversation. If a situation comes to the point that dismissal is unavoidable you are only bound by Labor Standards concerning how much notice you must provide to the Caregiver.

Usually if a caregiver has worked for you for less than three months you can dismiss her without notice, If they have worked for more than three months you must provide them with 2 weeks’ notice or 2 weeks pay in lieu of notice.  Other than this you have no any other obligations towards the caregiver.
