Applicant should complete at least 12 years of education, have training or experience related to taking care of children or elderly people, speak good English or French and have no criminal or medical conditions. We will go over this standards the first time you contact us to ensure you meet them. If we determine that you are likely to meet our standards we will register you for the free-of-charge Orientation Session.

REGISTRATION involves completing a thorough written application form, submission of the documents listed on the first page of the application, being interviewed by an agency staff member, and having your references checked. Do not expect that we will send your profiles to potential employers before this is all completed. RECRUITMENT FEES are paid entirely by the family. This means you will not need to pay to register with our agency.

THE REFERRAL for specific job opportunities is made at the agency's discretion. An important role the agency plays is selecting and referring candidates, who will, in our professional opinion, satisfy the client family's needs to the greatest extent possible. We don't just look for a 'warm body' - we want to refer candidates who have a reasonable chance of matching the family's requirements and their personal style.

How quickly you get referred is hard to estimate. Some candidates that have good qualifications and experience, with well prepared profiles and documents get sent out to interview right away; others may wait weeks or months for the right match to come along.

THE FAMILY INTERVIEW: When the agency is ready to arrange an interview for you, we will typically first present the family's profile to you - to assess if you would be interested in this specific job. If you agree, we will work with you and the family to schedule an interview. Interview is your opportunity to really sell yourself and to learn as much as possible about the job, the family's style, and their expectations. Generally the agency will provide the family with interview guidance, as well as detailed information about you. If you feel you need training for the Interview and Communication techniques, you can attend such training in our office. Remember! We can refer you to the Family we cannot sell you to the Family – it is in your hands to prove that you are their best possible choice! The guidelines about the interview process would be given to you at the time of the registration. Any questions about interview should be directed to our agency representative before the actual interview.

COLLECTING FEEDBACK: The agency will collect feedback from the family and you after the interview. If the family and you feel that you are a good match, the agency will help the family make a job offer to you. The agency will assist the family with salary and tax issues. We will also help the family write up a formal work agreement between the family and you.

LMO: Agency will file LMO application on the Family behalf and will pass positive LMO along with the Employment offer to you so you can proceed and apply for your Work permit.

WORK PERMIT: Once you received your LMO you need to apply for the work permit. Visit http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/syria-syrie/index.aspx?lang=eng for more information on how to apply for the work permit application.

CLIENT AND NANNY SATISFACTION: After you got your visa and commenced your employment, it is a good idea to check with the agency within the first 4 weeks of employment. The agency will act as an intermediary to resolve any conflicts. But we need to be aware of these before we can get involved. Feel free to contact the agency immediately if you feel there is a problem or you have question.

REPLACEMENT: We are not responsible to replace you should something go wrong, however will try and help you to find a new job or direct you to other job sources in Canada.
